How is the Bank regulated?

The Bank has also reporting obligations towards the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU), a government agency established under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. It is the entity responsible for the collection, collation, processing, analysis and dissemination of information with a view of combating money laundering and the funding of terrorism. The Unit is also responsible for monitoring compliance with the relevant legislative provisions.
Is the Bank a member of any lobbying group?
The Bank is a member of the Malta Bankers Association (MBA) a co-ordinating and lobbying body, for banks operating in Malta, on sectoral issues and policies. MBA is also a full member of the European Banking Federation (EBF) since 2004.
